2-Day Workshop on Activity Based Learning begins at Police Public School, Jammu


JAMMU, NOVEMBER 12: A 2-Day Workshop on Activity Based Learning was organised in Police Public School, Miran Sahib, Jammu. Dr M.P. Vijayakumar, a recipient of the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration and a well known educationist having specialization in conducting workshops for honing the teaching skills of teachers conducted the Workshop. He has facilitated the conception and implementation of Activity Based Learning in all schools of Tamil Nadu.

In the workshop, he impressed upon the teachers to make student learning process interesting. He said that there are three components viz. content, transaction methodology and evaluation and these three components are very important for involving the attention of the students to learn things conceptually as well as by activity. He said that the arrangements of studying in the classes should be such that it involves the senior students of other classes as mentors of the junior students.

Interactive exercises to understand the teaching and learning processes were also given to participating teachers. He also screened activity based films on different topics.

Shri Danesh Rana, IPS, IGP Armed Jammu (Administrative Officer J&K PPS Jammu), Dr. Haseeb Mughal, OSD to Advisor (K), Shri J.S Johar, Commandant, JKAP 8th Bn (Nodal Officer), Shri R.C. Kotwal, SP (Hqrs.) Jammu and Shri J.K. Sudan, Joint Director School Education, Jammu also attended the workshop.

Mrs. Renuka Guleria, Principal, J&K Police Public School, Jammu thanked the Resource Person on behalf of the School Management, Staff and Students.
